Tennis at Telford

Telford Park was founded on 1st August 1880, making it the second oldest lawn tennis club in London, preceded only by Wimbledon. Now, it is a thriving club which prides itself on its friendliness and its ability to accommodate members of all ages and abilities. Currently there are 7 hard courts (5 with floodlights) and a brand new clubhouse with beautiful grounds, including the 'wilderness' – an ecological haven and perfect picnic spot.

We are home to many senior and junior players, to individuals and whole families.

We run Club sessions on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings where members come together to play social doubles – it's a great way to meet other members, play some good doubles and generally enjoy life at the club. We have a thriving junior programme and 'Rusty Racquets' for our least practised seniors. For everyone in between, we run a full programme of competitive and social tennis all year round. Or simply book a court and play with your friends and family.

There is a full coaching programme for adults and juniors, both group and individual. Lots of sessions have been created to accommodate people of different standards wanting to get into tennis.

Adult and junior teams represent the club in local and Surrey leagues. We have an impressive track record and team members are always looking for talented new blood.

Each year we have a Club Championship, usually just before Wimbledon. It's open to adult and junior members.

Throughout the year we hold social events, some organised by the club and some led by individual members. All members welcome.

The club is run by volunteers and new helpers are always appreciated. Please find out how you can help – something little or something more substantial.
